G is for Green

We are now departing noun-land. So far everything the child has decided I should photograph was a noun: apron, blanket, cup, dresser, elephant, fireflies...GREEN. Maybe there just wasn't a noun in sight that started with G, or maybe she realized photography is visual and you can take a picture of a adjective, too. Maybe she remembered that Green is one of my favorite colors.

Can you take a picture of something Green, Mom?
Sure. What Green thing should I take a picture of?
The palm leaf.

Silly me at first I thought she meant one of Daddy's beautiful house plants. Nope.

No she wants me to reveal to the world (well some small portion of it anyway) that we still have Easter decorations up in plain sight at our house. Yep.

This is a palm leaf made in Sunday School by Little Brother on Palm Sunday (so technically Pre-Easter Decorations.)

He even embellished it a little with some green paint. So it is Green on Green...very Green. And yes, it is (past) the 4th of July, but we all know people who keep their Christmas trees up until Valentine's Day or so, so what's the big deal, right? Go ahead, enjoy a laugh at my expense.

Then Go Gander at other Great Goodies here.

Thanks, Sue.
Great green choice :o) I left the "cranberry vines" from Christmas all year, since I love the color of them...I had them on the cabinets in my kitchen. ..and only just a few weeks ago, put them away! ...got a wee bit tired of dusting them ;o)

Blessings & Aloha!

I don't do dusting...:-) but cranberry vines sound pretty!
I think she picked an excellent green! Honors both Easter and little brother!
I once had a very dried up Christmas tree in the backyard forever because hubby kept forgetting to take it to the front for pickup -- I was embarrassed to put it on the curb months after Christmas!

Thank you for coming by, and for your sweet comment. We've only had a real tree once in my married life. Not having to dispose of the dried out tree is one reason I still love our artificial tree - as nearly worn out as it is.
a wonderful green item! no matter the season!

Thanks - I did realize that technically every Sunday is a reminder of Easter, so...I guess it is suitable year round, right?
That girl's got good ideas! So fun to do this with a child.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the glaciers and guanacos. You daughter might enjoy seeing them.
I don't find your having Easter decorations up in July odd at all. I still have Christmas drawings done by the grands on my frig because they have not sent knew ones to replace them. I keep a valentine heart on my dresser all year as a rememorance of the person who gave it to me shortly before they died. You can now say that you have met someone who did not take their Christmas tree down one year until the first of August. And, only then because we needed the space to have a 10th birthday party for my daughter. We enjoyed decorating it for each of the holidays. We hung valentines , shamrocks, easter eggs, american flags, firecrackers and even picnic items on it before it came down.

Congratulate your child for me on their choice of such a happy and spiritual green.
