5 Minutes for Special Needs

Photobucket

The child loves to create. We're doing what we can to encourage this set of skills as it seems to help her be calm and happy. We may skip the social skills route and to an art class instead this Summer. We'll see. You can also visit Magic Marker Monday to see other kids' art, posted by other proud parents of Special Needs Kids. Or Special Exposure Wednesday to see photos of or by Special Needs Kids.

"No Motrsikles and no skitrs Becus Thar is a crickit asleep"
(No motorcycles and no scooters because there is a cricket asleep)

The child made this little sign to post outside on the fairly busy and noisy corner that we live on. Evidently she was worried that the loud motorcyles and scooters going by would waken her latest bug guest (a cricket). I left it up until we released the cricket. I hope our neighbors understood.

  1. Love it! And I was actually able to read the caption without the translation (I'm well-versed in kiddiespeak -- LOL!) How great that art supplies topped the Christmas list!

  2. What a sweetheart! I found myself quite enchanted as well -- and you did a lovely job capturing the spirit of the moment in your story and on film. I love nature art! :)
